If you enjoy wide-open spaces and that “home on the range” feeling, these roads are for you. Combining Mud Spring Bench, the east-west section, with Mud Springs Creek, the north-south section, this lightly traveled route offers panoramic views of Casto Bluff, Tent Hollow, Mud Spring Ridge, and the surrounding backcountry.
The two-track road is faint in places and lined with sagebrush at the higher elevations and grasses in the lower sections. Four-wheel drive is recommended, as rain or newly formed ruts could quickly make it necessary.
There are minimal pre-existing campsites along the route.
