Dave Wood Trail is an excellent alternative to the weekend traffic on the paved highways. It travels from the San Miguel River near Norwood, Colorado all the way to Montrose to the north. The scenic route allows you to bypass miles of winding pavement and traffic. Numerous free campsite can be found along the road for a memorable backcountry experience. The trail is easy enough for most passenger vehicles but there are ample opportunities to take a more challenging 4x4 side trail to explore this wonderful area.
