Located north of Antero Junction, just below the West and East Buffalo Peaks, Salt Creek is an easy dirt road that leads to the North Salt Creek hiking trailhead, passing a few nice campsites and patches of Aspen trees, making this road a great option for viewing the fall colors. Unlike its related trail to the south (South Salt Creek), this trail offers far more plentiful and worthwhile camping options if you are looking for a nice campsite for the weekend. The road is a well-maintained, hard-packed surface suitable for any vehicle, including travel trailers.
