Linn Road hugs the northwestern base of Ruby Mountain to reveal a gorgeous desert landscape decorated with massive boulder formations and stunning views to the north. The road intersects several other driving and hiking trails to explore, including New Dixie Mine Road, and has easy access from Highway 247.
There are abundant sites for dispersed camping, with one of the better prepared sites about halfway along the trail. This site has space for several vehicles and tents. There is no shade anywhere along the trail, and an awning or pop-up shade in the camp would make for relaxing enjoyment of the views.
This is an easy trail, comfortably handled with any high-clearance vehicle.
