Intersecting New Dixie Mine Road, RC2309 is a short out-and-back camping spur that climbs up the nearby hill to reach a large plateau with terrific views out to Ruby Mountain and its foothills. Near the start of the trail is an interesting cistern or guzler with a large slanting surface to collect rainwater and direct it to storage for drinking access by local wildlife. The trail offers a gentle rise to the plateau at its top, with a small rocky section.
There are two dispersed camping locations, one at the top with its great views and another at the bottom in a large, level, sandy area just across from the cistern.
