The Temple Bar to Gregg's Hideout connector is a 15-mile point-to-point trail that crosses the Lost Basin Mining District. This open desert area was once very active with several mining claims in the early 1900's. Now deserted, the desert flora and fauna abound, with stands of creosote bush and white bursage. Though no dispersed camping is allowed on the Lake Mead National Recreation Area portions of this road, those sections on BLM land dispersed camping is allowed and there are a few sites along the trail. The trail has a few sections with minor erosion damage.
