The first Easter Jeep Safari (EJS), the event now organized by the Red Rock 4 Wheelers, began in 1967. Originally started by the Moab Chamber of Commerce as a one day 4x4 trail run on Behind the Rocks, the event transitioned to the Red Rock 4 Wheelers in 1983 following Bureau of Land Management permit requirements.
