Crown Point Road leads into the heart of the Comanche Peak Wilderness. This road offers access to more than 100 miles of wilderness hiking trails in an area that borders the northern boundary of the Rocky Mountain National Park. The surrounding forest is rich with old-growth pine trees, so finding nature's ruggedness is easily accomplished along this route. Remnants of a 1943 World War II-era B-17 crash can be found south of Crown Point on the near-by hiking trails. Excellent dispersed camping is abundant, and the rippling sounds of nearby Bennett Creek will add to a peaceful experience.
