Trail Information

Highlights

Coffee Pot Road is a beautiful drive that takes you from Colorado River Road to the Flat Tops Wilderness of the White River National Forest. It's a long accent of over 4500 feet in elevation to the top with incredible views of the valley below and surrounding peaks. All though this is an easy road it can be quite an intimidating drive since a long part of this road is a shelf with no guard rails. Once you make it to the top there endless opportunities for adventure and fun, with seemingly endless 4x4 trails, tons of fishing holes, hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and some truly awesome camping environments. Coffee Pot Road is one of those drives you just can't find anywhere else.

Lots of camping opportunities and spurs to adventure on. Some of the road is pretty wash-boarded but the majority of it is in good shape. I missed the peak fall colors by about a week or two but the views were still pretty good!

We used this to return fromn Transfer and White Owl Lake. Glad we were heading down for the Friday afternoon rush hour. Gorgeous scenery and lots of wide open space to explore and camp.

It's a long, steep, and corrugated road to the top. Expect to have to pass people pulling trailers and 5th wheels. Once at the top the temps are cool and the wildflowers were poppin. Lots of camping opportunities and random spur trails to follow at the top. Incredible views. I was there on a Wednesday and saw several other vehicles. Probably quite crowded on the weekends.
