Just south of the Wyoming-Colorado State line, Bull Mountain Road climbs into a part of the Roosevelt National Forest not regularly traveled. You can seclude yourself from the hustle and bustle of others who might crowd your space. If camping away from the crowds is your craving, then this trail offers excellent camping solitude in the heavily treed forest. This out-and-back trail ascends Bull Mountain and offers views of Wyoming’s Snowy Range to the north and Colorado’s Medicine Bow Range to the west. With an abundance of Aspen trees lining the trail and nearby hills, the fall’s color will meet all your fall viewing expectations. Big game hunting is prevalent during the fall season with large populations of moose, elk, and deer residing in the region. Plenty of dispersed camping opportunities with little competition for space can be found on this journey.
