The Sevenmile Creek Trail follows an old travel route the Native Americans in the area called "Seven Mile Pass". This off-road trail is now part of the Fourmile Travel Management area and connects with several additional trails nearby. The route connects the Natural Bridge Trail to the top of Trout Creek Pass and is also a connector for the Chubb Park Trail. At Waypoint 5 the trail travels through the historic site of the Goddard Homestead, this makes for a unique photo opportunity as there are several old buildings still standing with a view of the Collegiate Peaks in the background.

Land Use Issues

This area is part of Pike-San Isabel National Forest, and as such is part of the 2011 Lawsuit where a coalition of conservation and recreation groups are suing the U.S. Forest Service over what they say is the illegal addition of 500 miles of motorized roads and trails. A settlement was reached in late 2015 that is requiring the U.S. Forest Service to re-evaluate the roads and create a new travel management plan. Over the next year, 30 roads will be partially or completely closed while this evaluation takes place over the next 5 years. It is imperative that the OHV community let's their voices be heard on this issue. If we do nothing, those 500 miles will be shutdown. Contact the local ranger districts and let them know why the area is important to you and the history you have there. Salida Forest Service District Office Leadville Forest Service District Office

This is a fun and easy road, had a good time on it today. The east half had some snow and mud on it which requires paying more attention than compared to the rest of it. Sure did muddy up the Jeep!

Simple trail into BV with some nice views. Trail is very busy with ATV’s and motorcycles. Was also very dry, thus dusty.

I led a small group from the Overland Bound Buena Vista June Jam on a larger loop of the north side of Fourmile on this day. We connected from Natural Bridge to Chubb's Park. Trail was in good condition and managed in 2wd in my stock full size.
