Highlight: The Bank
Those looking for a bit of a challenge combined with some breath-taking scenery should add The Bank in southern Colorado to their plans. Located just north of Canon City, CO, this trail doesn’t have any major obstacles but still clocks in with a moderate rating. The rocky surface will jostle you around for nearly the entire 7 miles and the off-camber can test your resolve. The reward comes after climbing about 1000’ feet as the bumpy descent gives way to sweeping views of the valley and colorful rock formations below. The Bank is not only a great year-round 4x4 destination but offers all kinds of recreation and it has a little something for everyone. The area is full of connections to other outdoor options including hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and ATV/Motorcycle tracks. You'll also find plentiful camping with lots of secluded options on the trail and more developed sites in the area.
