627D Pine Creek Meadow Spur is a short trail connecting two main trails in the area, Pine Creek Meadow and West Mountain Trail. It is located in the expanse of the Boise National Forest. The trail is less than two hours north of Boise, Idaho, and only a couple of miles from Sagehen Reservoir where you can camp, swim, fish, and boat. You will have about 8 miles of wheeling to do just to get to this trailhead, so don't let it's short length deter you. Be alert and aware of the animals that call this beautiful forest their home, which includes elk, deer, bear, cougar, and wolves. This trail borders the north edge of the Pine Creek meadow so camping at Waypoint 2 puts you in a prime location for spotting those animals or utilizing that site as a base camp during hunting seasons.
