Climbing from the Eagle River Valley near Minturn into the heart of the White River National Forest, Tigiwon Road delivers a memorable mountain journey through sweeping aspen groves, dense evergreen forest, and increasingly rugged alpine terrain. The winding, sometimes rough drive feels wonderfully removed from the nearby resort towns, eventually reaching the edge of the Holy Cross Wilderness, where secluded camping and trailheads leading toward some of Colorado’s most iconic high-country scenery invite travelers to slow down, explore, and discover what lies beyond the road.
