Overview

A drive through history and thick forest is what you will find as you stroll along this main route in the Roosevelt National Forest. Roach Road is named after the ghost town, Old Roach, that can be found while on this journey. This forest was a primary resource for supplying railroad ties during the US western expansion in the 1800’s. Mining resources were also later found in the vicinity. Today, Old Roach is a popular recreation destination if you’re looking for an escape from the urban hustle. Primitive camping, hunting, fishing, or a relaxed drive through the rugged forest are all reasons to explore this area.
