Wildflowers in summer. Excellent fall colors. Wide views of peaceful, pastoral Park County and mountains to the north and west. Crooked Creek is an excellent, easy, "get-away" trail. It offers some of the best primitive campsites in the area, most large enough for big camper trailers and a few big enough for large groups. It's also a favorite for hunters.
The western fork follows Crooked Creek nearly to its source. There are no real obstacles. Just lots of trees and a few campsites.
The eastern fork passes through a huge meadow before crossing, and then following, Trout Creek, ending at the ruins of a small settlement with great views of Mount Silver Heels.
