Situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest of north Georgia, 93A is the simplest and easiest road within the Beasley Knob OHV Trail System. Known simply as "Access," this trail leads to several of the most intense Beasley Knob trails. It offers a few great camping opportunities that are sometimes used as impromptu camps after a long, eventful day tackling other trails in the network. Come explore for a day or a weekend, but combine this trail with several others in the network to complete the only Jeep Badge of Honor trail in Georgia.

Trail Difficulty and Assessment

Trail Navigation

93A, also called "Access," starts at the northernmost trailhead for the Beasley Knob Trail System. This straight-through connector trail is an easy drive for just about any vehicle. The trail is one vehicle wide, but broad gravel shoulders make passing oncoming traffic a breeze. This trail is primarily used for two purposes; to access the only dispersed campsites within the Beasley Knob Trail System and to connect with trails 93B and 93C.

This trail is suitable for any vehicle with decent ground clearance.

Before traveling this trail, there are several rules you must be aware of.

  • The trail system is subject to closure during periods of wet weather. The status listed within this guide is not meant to be updated daily. For the most current, up-to-date gate information, call the Blue Ridge Ranger District Office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, at 706-745-6928.
  • The trail system is open from sunrise to sunset. The gates do not close, but off-roading is prohibited during nighttime hours.
  • A day pass or OHV Annual Pass must be obtained before using the trail system. Passes can be purchased online using the QR code posted at the trailheads or any Forest Service Office.

This trail is just a simple connector or access trail, just like the name suggests. There are no obstacles and not much to the road. Just a drive through the forest. The first campsite is the most remote, but is a bit trashed. Please pick up your trash folks! The second campsite was my favorite.
