This trail is an easier alternative to the more difficult route up Hamlin Gulch. It leaves that trail before the first off-camber obstacle and rejoins it shortly after the second. It gains altitude slowly as it traverses the north and west side of Mt. Pisgah making its way through the pine forest and several aspen groves. The mountains to the west peek in and out of the trees until you cross the summit and the view opens up offering spectacular vistas to the south and west. From there you gradually descend the open hillside to rejoin Hamlin Gulch.
