Trail Information

Tucker Grade is the main road in Babcock Webb WMA. The trail will take travelers through everything the WMA has to offer, including campsites, prairies, woods, and marshes. The trail is a great scenic drive weaving through dense trees closely set to the edge of the trail, creating a tunnel-like effect. The wetlands will be mostly cleared out, allowing the horizon to seemly touch the ground. Tucker Grade is a fun, easy, and beautiful trail in Babcock Webb WMA. Fred C. Babcock/Cecil M. Webb Wildlife Management Area is an active cattle ranch located in southwest Florida. The Wildlife Management Area consists of prairies, marshes, and woodlands spanning almost 66,000 acres in Charlotte County. Babcock Webb WMA allows camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife watching, paddling, boating, and horseback riding.

Nothing but a straight flat dirt road.

Difficulty Accuracy: Spot On

This is a Wildlife Management Area managed and maintained for hunting. The off road trails are closed except during hunting season. But from the scenery perspective the area is amazing. Lots of wildlife including Bale Eagles, wading birds of all sorts and alligators. The camping sites are good but many are right next to each other - little to no privacy if they are occupied. Be aware of the wind. Fire pits may be difficult to use in windy conditions. There are no grills or grates at the fire pits. All in all a great place to visit to enjoy the scenery but off road enthusiasts will be disappointed.

Really enjoyed Tucker Grade from a scenic perspective, the flood areas were pretty dry. Saw plenty of quail, deer, and of course cows.
