Trail Information

Highlights

Goethe State Forest is located in central Florida and spans almost 54,000 acres. Exploring Goethe State Forest can be done in many ways, such as hiking, bicycling, horseback, and street-legal vehicles. Goethe State Forest is great for anyone looking to hunt, fish, camp, and watch wildlife. North Gasline Road is located on the south side of Goethe State Forest. North Gasline Road begins on an elevated surface due to swamp on both sides of the trail. Later the trail dries out to and visitors are surrounded by various forest density as this trail has been previously harvested for lumber. On the north end of the trail, visitors will find Apex Trailhead which hosts grills, restrooms, picnic tables, and places to hitch horses.

Took this trail just to get out and run the CJ7 on 9/19/2021. This was a good ride with no major obstacles and great scenery through the forest! We have gotten a lot of rain over the past two months but still no standing water on the trail. There were some spots where water was laying on both sides of the trail almost up to the path so I'm predicting with a few more good thunderstorms this trail may have a few inches of water in some spots but nothing to worry about and that would only be during our rainy season. Great for a quick twenty minute trail ride through the woods.

North Gasline Road is a typical Florida wood trail. There are some nice scenic spots and the elevated trail cutting through swamp was pretty cool.
