Highlight: Phantom Road (AKA Phantom Creek)
Phantom Road (AKA Phantom Creek) wanders through from the dense forest and out to the burn scar of the 2002 Hayman Fire, which at 138,000 acres and was the largest fire in Colorado history until 2020. The scenery in the forest peaks out towards the north side of Pike's Peak, and the burn scar can produce incredible vistas in good weather. Phantom Road is an excellent trail for novice drivers, stock trucks, and SUVs, all while getting a handle on the basics of trails in the area. This area is also super-popular in the winter since the snow tends not to get super-deep, and it will bring out the off-roaders well into the snowy season.
