Trail Information

Highlights

Bull Creek is located in Osceola County and spans almost 24,000 acres. Bull Creek also goes by Herky Huffman WMA in memory of Hershey "Herky" Huffman. Bull Creek is known for large flocks of birds making the WMA their home. In the fall many more birds migrate to Bull Creek to escape the cold north. West Loop Road is one of two main roads in Bull Creek. The wide-open prairie allows hurricane and tropical storm wind to pick up speed and knockdown lots of trees. The green vegetation seems to go on forever and eventually touch the sky. Dogs love Bull Creek, especially hunting breeds from all the birds in the area.

There’s a lot more to explore here than this map lead me to believe. Turns out, certain times of the year they have 7 roads open to driving that are normally blocked off. Each of these 7 roads is a little different and provides a good variety of what central Florida has to offer. Could be soft in spots if it’s rained. Be willing to turn around in certain spots if you’re solo

Easy scenic sand track. Can be a little bit slippery in some spots. If it has rained recently expect there to be some muddy areas off to the side, and hallow water crossing. You will probably see others driving around. It's easy to go to fast here. There are road is smooth in section, but can get a little rutted fairly quickly

This trail is a kind of figure 8. You can go the full circle or cut it in half. The whole trail is dry, mildly bumpy, can be driven in a standard sedan. The end of the trail if starting from the west loop has a small water collection about 6in deep following by a wooden bridge. A nice simple trail for beginners.

West Loop road has a lot to offer campers, hikers, wildlife watchers, hunters, and equestrians. For offroaders West Loop falls short if looking for challenges or obstacles since its a scenic route.
