Junction Creek begins within the historic town of Durango and ends high above in the San Juan National Forest. The trail grants access to several popular hiking and mountain biking trails. This easy but long trail is often used for mountain bike shuttling, as well as the organized camping and primitive camping offered along the trail. There is also a beautiful and memorable scenic vista stop with beautiful views of the Animas River. While traveling up to over 10,000 feet, you'll experience vast panoramas of the larger peaks to the north without having to travel far from town or rent a more capable vehicle.
