Trail 20 is a sand and dirt trail that drops in elevation the entire route. There will be eroded areas where some mild climbs/drops will be necessary, but nothing a stock 4x4 vehicle would have to worry about. As you continue west on Trail 20 the scenery will change from bright white sugar sand to orange dirt and clay, then towards the trail end the scenery changes to a swamp consisting of mud and water crossings. The changing scenery of Trail 20 makes it an interesting trail!
Citrus Wildlife Management Area is a very popular and active Management Area. Citrus WMA is almost 50,000 acres and is part of both Citrus and Hernando counties. Citrus WMA provides plenty of four-wheeling, hiking, biking, and horse riding trails along with multiple camping sites.

At the intersection of West Main Street and Pleasant Grove Road, turn south onto Pleasant Grove Road. Take Pleasant Grove Road for almost 10 miles, then turn west onto East Stage Coach Trail. Drive almost four miles until you see a sign for, "Withlacoochee State Forest - Tillis Hills Recreaction Area" then turn onto the gravel road, which will be Trail 13.
Follow Trail 13 north for a half-mile and turn right/east onto Trail 22. Follow Trail 22 east until it dead-ends into Trail 9. Take Trail 9 left/north for one mile and you'll intersect with Trail 20, turn left/west onto Trail 20.
Easy trail that can be done in 2wd when dry. Trail is closed off from checkpoint 1 to checkpoint 2 going the reverse way. There is a fallen tree on the trail between checkpoint 7 and 8, but the bypass is clear.
Trail 20 is kinda fun for it's changes in elevation. But that's where the problem exists. Watch out for idiots racing along the trail with no sight line ahead for what's over the next crest. We were almost hit head on by six ATV's racing along the trail and had no idea we were on the other side of the trail. Still, a lot of fun!
Trail 20 is a smooth at the beginning and has some long hill climbs. After crossing Trail 13, Trail 20 really changes scenery to mud and swamp. Trail 20 is ok overall, worth at least trying once but does not have anything specific that allows it to stand out among other trails in Citrus WMA.
