Caves in a peaceful and serene forest and one of the best off-road trails in the entire Citrus WMA - what more can you want from Trail 15? The trail offers driving on dirt and sand, elevation changes, mild off-camber, and shallow water crossings. The drive will provide a variety of visual experience in colors with white sand, red clay, vibrant green foliage, and on dry days bright blue skies! At the beginning of the trail, the parking area starts for the short hiking trail to both Dames Cave and Peace Caves, one of Citrus WMA's most interesting areas

1. Trailhead from Trail 22 - Turn Right/North onto Trail 15 (0 mi)
This is the beginning of Trail 15. Dames and Peace Caves are west of here and must be hiked to, vehicles are not allowed. Who would have thought Florida had caves to explore? A total of 37 caves have been discovered to date, most of them in the Citrus Tract.

Directions to Trailhead

Starting Point: Inverness, FL

At the intersection of West Main Street and Pleasant Grove Road, turn south onto Pleasant Grove Road. Take Pleasant Grove Road for almost 10 miles, then turn west onto East Stage Coach Trail. Drive almost four miles until you see a sign for, "Withlacoochee State Forest - Tillis Hills Recreaction Area" then turn onto the gravel road, which will be Trail 13. Follow Trail 13 north for a half-mile and turn left/west onto Trail 22. Continue on Trail 22 for three miles, then turn left/north onto Trail 15.
