Inscription Canyon is a very interesting place. Vehicles are not allowed in the 100-yard canyon. The short hike from the end of the road leads to an extremely large collection of Native American petroglyphs and pictographs. The band of Native Americans that is believed to have created these etchings is named the Kawaiisu. They lived in the nearby Tehachapi Mountains and the central Mojave Desert.
