The Hull Cabin trail is in close proximity to the Grand Canyon yet gives travelers a free place to camp that gives a break from the crowds of tourists present in the park. Amazing views are close by with Grandview Point approximately two miles west of the trailhead and Moran Point approximately four miles east.

From Cameron, AZ: Enter Grand Canyon National Park. Head south on US Hwy. 89 for 1.5 miles. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto AZ-64 W/Desert View Dr. Travel west on AZ-64 for 42.6 miles. The trailhead is unmarked on the left between mile markers 254 and 253.
Went through the Grand Canyon, didn’t realize that you can enter another way but I wanted to check out the canyon either way. Nice spots to camp and most of the spots were secluded
Trail is clear and open. Grand Canyon National Park Visitor Center, Museum, the East Entrance to the park at Desert View, and the Desert View Watchtower area is CLOSED because of COVID-19 concerns. In addition, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are in effect: Due to increased fire danger, all wood burning and charcoal fires, including campfires, warming fires, and charcoal barbecues, will be prohibited on the South Rim of the park. This includes all campgrounds and residential areas. Pressurized liquid or gas stoves, lanterns, and heaters are allowed.
Trail is clear and open from the National Park boundary to Tusayan. I did not enter the Grand Canyon National Park but the route was open all the way in.
