Highlight: Felkins/Meyer Bridge
Felkins / Meyer Bridge trail is a unique and wonderful trail north of Hector, Arkansas in the Big Piney Ranger District and takes you into the heart of this district. This trail skirts between two ridges through a valley and parallels Mill Creek. Along the route are multiple water crossings and amazing scenery unique to the Ozark National Forest. But don’t be fooled by the beauty of the trail, proper modifications should be done to prevent vehicle damage and to ensure a safe trip. With a unique feature to this part of the forest with an open camping spot, this trail makes an excellent cut through from Granny Gap Road to Adams Mountain Road. During the later seasons when the leaves are off the trees, this route takes you between two valleys with several high rock walls and cliffs that can be seen. During the earlier seasons, this trail is lush with a green canopy for a nice shady trail. Due to it's proximity to water, some of Arkansas' most notable wildlife has been spotted in the area.
