Trail Information

Highlights

AC9476 is part of a network of trails in this area at the base of the Cady Mountains, east of the small desert community of Newberry Springs, California. This scenic off-road trail includes surrounding hills of dark ancient lava covered with contrasting white sand, distant desert mountain horizons, and long stretches of soft, smooth desert road. This trail can be combined with a few others for a quick loop or combined with many others for a full-out overland trip through the Mojave.

There might be a lot of confusion lately with the San Bernardino National Forest order ( No. 05-12-00-23-03 ) closing almost all forest trails in southern California. This trail is still open.

We joined this trail at waypoint 4 and going in the opposite direction of the TOR mapping and heading towards Hidden Valley Wash.. Soft sand and some undulations near waypoint 2 (see picture) and you just keep getting further away from it all deeper in the desert.

Easy trail, but has some bumpy sections.
