Trail Information

Highlights

The Wildomar OHV Area is 1 square mile with 8 miles of trails. Los Alamos Trail 7S03 is a shortcut to this area. 7S03 ends at South Main Divide 7S04 and the OHV area is just a short distance to the south. The South Main Divide Road is the route of choice for a low clearance 2wd vehicle, coming south off the Ortega Highway, Hwy74, 9 miles away. Even though I rated Los Alamos at 1-2, I was amazed to see 2wd pickups pulling large trailers filled with quads and bikes. Here is a link for more information. Wildomar OHV

I usually take this fun short trail in the opposite direction. That points me downhill from the Main Divide turn off. Spits me out into La Cresta. Fun bit of trail. Roller-coastery and short. I don't spend time in the actual ohv area which seems more for atv's. Easy but I'd hesitate to take the Highlander on it for lack of clearance.

The signage we read said the closure ends Dec 18, 2018. I'd highly recommend calling the ranger district as their website is grossly out of date. Just about everything else we tried in the Trabuco Ranger District of Cleveland NF was closed with signage that either blamed the fires or the rain.

I sometimes take this trail down from S Main Divide. While heading there from Ortega Highway I came across a new gate not too far past the homes beyond the first gate on S Main Divide. There were two signs posted about the closure, with a map of the closed off area. The closure includes this trail, the Wildomar OHV / Campground, and a good chuck of the trail beyond.

Thanks, Tasha for letting me know its closed, I'll change the trail guide. From the recent fire I suspected that might be the case. In the future, it would be great to have a little more information and even some photos. Thanks again.
