Trail Information

Highlights

After the switchbacks of NF-1500, you are given the option to depart early and continue on to NF-324, which will end up steering you towards the more challenging, and awe-inspiring Bethel Ridge. Despite being a short connector, NF-324 offers amazing views of Rimrock Lake, and the surrounding mountains, including Rainier and Adams. This trail is part of the Washington Cascade Overland Route. It's rougher than your standard #1 Forest Road, but still completely easy. If you're headed for Rattlesnake or doing WABDR the easy way, make sure you take this side trip. The views are spectacular. Also, if you have decent clearance 4x4, go locate the "Hidden WABDR Viewpoint" - It won't disappoint! I have a sneaky suspicion that early morning with soft light and Rainier properly lit, you could get some out of this world photos.

Epic Trail! Camped around waypoint three surrounded by trees. Tons of dry wood for campfires. (next time I’ll bring a chainsaw) mosquitos were horrible at camp! Saw a mountain goat by Ridge, and lots of cool dual sport bikes passing by. Amazing views of Mt Adams and Mt Rainier! Definitely one of my favorite trails so far. Easy enough to get up to the famous Ridge shot, even with full size trucks.
