About an hour from Denver and situated within the Arapahoe National Forest, the Bill Moore Lake Trail is part of the Empire Loop, a network of trails just above Empire, Colorado.  This short connector trail offers a shortcut along Bill Moore Lake with a fun, mildly challenging rocky hill climb.

Super steep and tight turns with huge boulders in the middle of the path… line choice and wheel placement are crucial. You’re definitely going to want rock sliders and skids before you even think of doing this… I don’t have sliders and maaaaan I’m glad my wife is a great spotter.

Might be cutting it close in a full size vehicle. Hit my skid plate and sliders in my tj on 31s.

Ran this uphill today, no issues. A little puckery with the slick mud/snow. Boulders might pose a problem for longer wheelbases as you have to navigate them around your rocker. Passed a stock LR3, and a WK coming down with no problems.
