Trail Information

Highlights

This is a very nice trail through the valley in between Devil's Head and Dakan Mountain with a creek that runs through it. It has some spots for fishing, camping, and picnics. It's a nice trail to run to extend other trails or just to do Dakan Road as a loop. It has a lot of connectors to ATV and Dirt Bike trails. There is a very large network of trails here in the rampart range area that can make for a great day on the trail.

Seems to be open now, was able to fully complete the trail in a 2002 stock liberty. Still not the greatest traction lots of loose rock on steep climbs

Road is completely impassable on foot or vehicle between waypoints 5 and 6. Sign indicating road closure can be driven around. Damage is pretty severe and may take some time to reopen road completely.

Currently closed fuel to road damage from the recent storms. Expected that they will fix soon.

Great trail, it meanders through a quaint valley. Lots of beautiful forest and rock formations surrounding the valley. How ever has of today, it is deeply eroded from all of the recent rain fall and the creek has over flowed it’s banks so there is a fairly deep water crossing currently on the trail. And lots of very deep ravines from all of the water erosion. Water was flowing on the trail in many areas. So unless if you have larger tires and/or high clearance, I’d be cautious. I have a 4” f150 on 36” tires and it still dipped down a lot. So be careful. I had to move a smal tree out of the way also. Be safe and have fun everyone.

With the recent rains there is a deep water crossing and an area of substantial washout... upwards of two ft...
