Connecting from the residential area of Newberry Springs, California, into the trails of the Cady Mountains east of Barstow and just south of Afton Canyon, Riverside is mostly rough dirt and soft sand with an optional side hilled sand wash. Riverside is an excellent trail for beginners with 4wd looking to get a taste of easy desert wheeling or explorers looking to reach the additional trails to the east.
