Los Alamos Road is a straight-through 4-mile trail with compacted dirt and a slight amount of loose rock. The route is easily traversed by any high clearance vehicle. Mildly off-camber sections exist along the route and at arroyo entrances and exits. The bottoms of the arroyos are soft sand.
Camping in the park is restricted to designated sites only. There is one designated site along this trail, 1 mile from the southeast end.
