Dry Creek

Dry Creek Road (FS 70630) is a scenic backcountry route that can be driven as a loop between Highway 21 and Stanley Lake Road, offering spectacular views of the Sawtooth Range and a glimpse into Idaho's recovering forests. The trail winds through lodgepole pine forests and wildfire burn areas where vibrant wildflowers and young pines are reclaiming the landscape. Several spacious dispersed campsites near the Highway 21 trailhead provide outstanding mountain views and are suitable for travel trailers during the first mile. Beyond that, the road becomes narrower, steeper, and noticeably rockier, making it better suited for high-clearance vehicles and not recommended for towing most trailers. With panoramic overlooks, peaceful camping, and far less traffic than many nearby routes, Dry Creek Road is a rewarding escape into the quieter side of the Stanley area.
