Harris Creek Summit is an incredible drive through the Boise National Forest that runs from Bogus Basin Ski Resort in the south up through the wilderness of the Boise Mountains in the north on Forest Road 297. Make sure to take the short turnoff towards the north end of the trail up to Hawley Mountain Lookout, the panoramic views of the Sawtooth Mountains and other ranges are not to be missed!

There are no developed campgrounds on this trail, but there are plenty of dispersed camping areas, as well as a campground near Bogus Basin.

Most of this trail is easy on this wide double-lane road, but at the north end, there are a couple of steep rocky sections. But under dry conditions, any high-clearance vehicle can make it, but 4-wheel drive is nice to have. The trail ends in the north, where a fallen tree blocks the road.
