Kinyon Road is an easy one to two-lane gravel road through the desert of Southern Idaho and is suitable for any vehicle. It runs from Crows Nest Road near Balanced Rock Park in the north to Grassy Hills Road in the south. Continuing on Grassy Hills Road leads to Three Creek Highway with access to Salmon Falls Dam in the east and the Jarbidge, Nevada, area in the west. Numerous side trails lead into the desert, which are ripe for exploration in a more capable vehicle.

As one drives south on Kinyon Road, the distant mountains come into view and make for a scenic sight. Dispersed camping is allowed along the public sections of the road, but there are no established dispersed sites. The nearest campgrounds are at Balanced Rock Park and Salmon Falls Dam. The entire area is open range, and there may be cattle along the road.
