Lost Trail is located in the Murphy Subregion of Idaho’s Owyhee Front, beginning at the Scorpion Creek OHV Trail Parking Lot off Highway 78 near Murphy. This trail is a favorite among locals for testing new rigs or fresh upgrades, offering a mix of technical challenges and easier bypasses.
Along the route, you'll encounter seven distinct obstacles, including rock ledges and tight chutes. While not every feature is mandatory, drivers with larger tires and at least one locker will have an easier time taking on the tougher lines. Rock sliders and skid plates are highly recommended for this trail.
If you're not ready for the hard stuff, no problem, most obstacles have bypasses, making the trail accessible for a range of skill levels. Dispersed camping is allowed in the area, but no-formal campsites exist along this route.
This is a shared-use trail, so keep an eye out for motorcycles and ATVs and always practice responsible trail etiquette. Whether you're breaking in a new build or just looking for a fun day on the rocks, The Lost Trail is a great way to experience Idaho off-roading.
