Osceola National Forest is one of three National Forests in Florida. Spanning 266,000 acres Osceola is the smallest of Florida's National Forests. Ocala National Forest is great for anyone looking to hunt, camp, watch wildlife, or visit the Lewis D. Whitaker shooting range! National Forest Road 232 is one of Osceola's longest trails. FR232 starts in the lower 1/3 of the forest and ends on the central east side. The trail allows explorers to take an easy stroll through the forest and swamp. FR232 goes around the west and north side of the 13,000 acres of protected wetlands named Big Gum Swamp Wilderness.
