Caribou Creek is situated just north of the sleepy town of Eldora in the Arapaho/Roosevelt National Forest. While the town of Eldora might be sleepy, the trail just above it will wake you up and get your heart racing pretty quickly! The trail ascends suddenly out of Eldora and you will soon encounter some extremely narrow, off-camber pitches that will test even the most experienced drivers nerves. Take in the scenery as you continue up the hill, as parts of the trail present some beautiful mountain vistas, showcasing some high elevation lakes and peaks out in the distance. This trail will take you up to the abandoned ghost town of Caribou, which was known for its rich silver mining in the late 1800s.
