This rutted entrance to the Hyster small vehicle trail travels a short distance before running into the single-track gate. Skid Road is not too difficult, but the weather can make the ruts slippery. The trail runs parallel to Ensign Gulch for the first couple of hundred feet, just the road surface is a few feet higher than the other trail before turning away from Ensign and heading uphill to the end of this spur.
