High in the Sierra Nevada, surrounded by towering pines, crystal-clear water, and massive granite formations, Slick Rock is a legendary rock-crawling trail that packs serious technical wheeling into a spectacular mountain setting. The harder half of 7N17 is where this trail earns its reputation, with steep ledges, deep holes, tight squeezes, off-camber climbs, and relentless granite obstacles leading toward several signature challenges.

But Slick Rock is more than just an obstacle course. With Lake Alpine, Utica and Union Reservoirs, excellent camping, and endless Sierra scenery nearby, the trail delivers a complete high-country adventure where you can spend the weekend exploring, camping, and tackling one of Northern California’s most memorable rock-crawling routes.
