Located within the Johnson Valley OHV Area, JV4228 is an east-west route, linking Soggy Dry Lake and Cougar Buttes, passing through beautiful, jumbled boulder formations. This sandy desert trail has no obstacles and would be enjoyed by new offroad explorers in a 2-wheel drive high clearance vehicle. Expect washboards and occasional exposed rock.
Dispersed camping is abundant along the trail and can be enjoyed when following the BLM Dispersed Camping Guidelines. Book docking in large RVs is common along the western end of the trail. Campfires may be prohibited, and it is the responsibility of campers to know and follow the current Campfire Restrictions.
