No matter where you go in the Ouachita National Forest an adventure is to be had. Alum Branch/FR695, having recently been logged and the road updated offers a little more than it used to. Meaning now it's possible to see down into the ravines to scout for wildlife and most high clearance passenger vehicles won't have a problem with this road anymore. Alum Branch connects to the tail end of Ritter/211 which is in part an unimproved forest road with some fun washouts and a short water crossing during the rainy months. Regardless of where you choose to explore the Ouachita National Forest the Winona Wildlife Refuge area is a wonderfully scenic place and Alum Branch/695 helps connect it all together.
