Gilbert Canyon Road is a 4-mile out-and-back trail that travels down a wash that narrows as it gets closer to Lake Mead and ends at a large rock waterfall. The rock walls of this canyon are full of limestone, granite, schist, and gneiss that date back over 1 billion years. This trail is a great side trip while traveling the Cohenour Loop Road. The trail is mostly a rough dirt road; there is one section that has 3 small ledges under 12" in height to negotiate. The end of the trail is a great place to camp.
