St. George Canyon is one of the main roads used to drive deep into the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument. Starting from the north, it passes abandoned ranch operations before dropping into the canyon. Recent repair work has been done to fix apparent flash flood damage. Inside the canyon, the views are minimal with no camping.
Anticipate the road changing drastically after rain events; it is best to avoid this road altogether during a hard rain. Suitable for any high-clearance SUV or truck with 4-low gearing.
