Overview

Talladega National Forest 616 is a partially maintained gravel road located in the southern section of the beautiful Talladega National Forest. The road is passable by most vehicles and is only rough in a few short sections. The road winds through hardwood and pine forests with several excellent camping spots along the way.The road follows the base of the nearby mountain ridge and crosses several one lane bridges. In the rainy season the creeks may rise over the bridges but are usually passable. This is a great detour from the major fire roads in the area and offers excellent views of Horn’s Mountain. It is also a nice shortcut if you’re traveling to the nearby trailhead of 600-1. If you’re looking for a relaxing ride with beautiful scenery be sure to check out NF 616.
