Don't miss this gem in the Sand Flats Recreation Area that runs along the northern edge of Moab, Utah. While not as famous, it is well worth the time and effort it takes to run this route since to say this trail is scenic is an understatement. This is also a moderate trail and it serves as being a true test of a wheeler’s endurance thanks to the rough nature of the much of the terrain. Virtually the entire 9-miles is rough outcroppings of the classic Moab rock to climb down and over, making for a good balance of a challenging but fulfilling trip. You may recognize some of the rock formations and terrain features along this trail because the area has been in a number of movies and TV shows over the years. The same scenery that brings filmmakers is the highlight of this trail. Since it is one of the highest altitude trails in Moab, it offers you views of Utah in virtually all directions. On the north side, you get panoramic views of the La Sal Mountains, Castle Valley, Round Mountain, Castleton Tower and the Colorado River. The south side of this trail has views of Moab, the sandstone rock 'fins' and the famous trails in the valley.
