Meloy Canyon Road is a connecting road between the town of Nile, and the local favorite, Bethel Ridge. The trail is far less open than the connected R-1000 and does have some narrow portions, with light ridgeling driving. Pullouts are present, and negotiating with other drivers shouldn’t be difficult. The trees become denser the further down you travel, though not as lush as the forests to the south. After a descent of nearly 2,100 feet, Meloy Canyon Road ends at the intersection of Bethel Ridge Road/NF-1500. From there, it’s a short drive into Nile.
